I have always loved Valentine’s Day. Any holiday that celebrates love, flowers, the color red, and any thing heart shaped can’t be bad, right? Now that I have two little girls, it’s an even sweeter holiday.
Tonight, I made a yummy dinner with some of the girls favorite foods, corn & homemade mashed potatoes, and we also had broccoli and cheese stuffed chicken. We had cupcakes for dessert, and you can see I caught the girls red-handed in one of the photos sneaking a taste. The beautiful vintage vase and tulips are from my husband. I am so in love with the vase, and tulips are my favorite.
Beau is carrying on the tradition my father started for my sister and I, where he picks out a card and some candies for the girls. When I was a girl, I never worried about a boy at school being my sweetheart, because I knew my Dad would always be my valentine. It’s one of my favorite family traditions, and I am so glad that Beau is keeping this little custom going. All little girls want to marry their fathers anyway.
Happy Valentine’s Day. xo
