We’ve just concluded a successful first week back to school, and I figured a trip to the beach was in order. Amelia had a stellar first week as a first grader, and my step daughter started middle school. (yikes!) Maggie starts back to preschool after Labor Day. I made a big breakfast this morning of bacon, potatoes, and eggs, then we drove to Clearwater Beach to swim in the ocean, and play in the powder white sand. I hope you and your kiddos are having a smooth transition back in to your school time routines.
We often give eggs from our backyard chickens to friends and family. We use recycled egg cartons that people save for us from their store bought eggs, and reuse them to bring our eggs to others. My Papaw was the one who inspired us to get our hens, and I knew I wanted a label that read Papaw Farms to put on our egg containers in honor of him. I am so happy with the way these Kidecals labels turned out. The labels are very high quality, and are perfect for this purpose.
Another product from Kidecals that I knew I wanted were their chalkboard labels. My kiddos are collectors, and I often save our spaghetti and olive jars for them to stash away their treasures in. Now, we can label them, too! These labels would also be perfect on homemade salsa or jam.
Head on over to Kidecals and check out all of their great labels. I will definitely be ordering some more labels for Amelia’s school supplies when she is ready to go back to school. Kidecal is offering my readers 15% off any order with the discount code fashion.

vintage globe I found for Amelia’s room recently. Only $5 at a church thrift!
Hello! Now that summer break is officially over, I hope to get back to regular blogging again. Amelia is having a GREAT first week at school, and I am so happy (and relieved). My little Maggie starts half day preschool after Labor Day, and I kinda want to cry my eyes out and jump for joy at the same time! I imagine most parents feel that way.
Amelia has passed the preschool torch to Maggie, and I will begin posting Preschool Style posts again, starring our favorite three year old.
We have a trip planned for the weekend after Labor Day to visit Disney World. Our plan is to go to the Animal Kingdom one day, and the Magic Kingdom the next. I am really looking forward to this trip. We haven’t been to Orlando since early June!
I wanted to share a few links with you. We bought Amelia’s backpack and lunch box from Pottery Barn this year. I really love the print, and their bento lunch system has been perfect for Amelia’s lunches.
I hope everyone is having a smooth transition in to the new school year. I would love to see your back-to-school photos. Please share them on my Facebook page.
Today, Amelia said goodbye to summer, and hello to school.
Party pennant skirt available here.
-I’ve ordered this skirt for Amelia to wear on the first day of school. I just adore it.
-Amelia will turn 5 this fall, but because her birthday is after the start of the school year, she will attend preschool again this year.
-I have been on the hunt for a new pair of school shoes, I am leaning towards purchasing this pair.
-The next few weeks will be full of laundry, closet & room organization, and getting back on a normal sleep schedule in preparation for school to start. How is it already time for school to start?!
-After Amelia returns to school, it is time to start potty training for Miss Maggie. We also plan to transition her in to her big girl bed.
-We have a trip to Busch Gardens planned for this weekend, and a trip to the beach on Labor Day weekend. I am also excited to share that we are purchasing annual Disney passes, and will start our ” Year of Disney” with a weekend stay at the Disney’s Art of Animation Resort next month. We are staying in the new Little Mermaid Rooms, and the girls are beyond excited. Amelia has already packed a bag.
-I am also excited to tell you that I have partnered with BonLook to do a giveaway in the next few weeks, so check back for that.
I hope everyone is enjoying the last few days of summer with your kids, and that back to school is smooth sailing for everyone.
Wow! You can really see how much she’s grown!
Today was Amelia’s first day back to preschool.
She’s a bit smarter, a little taller, and a whole lot sillier.
I love this robot backpack! Available here.
