Our sweet Zebra Finches, Dean & Sammy.
I went thrifting a week ago, and fell in love with a vintage bird cage. I’ve been thinking about this bird cage ever since. This morning, I stopped back by the Salvation Army to see if it was still there. I was certain it would not be. I had priced other mid-century bird cages for over $100, so surely this beauty marked at $30 would no longer be there, but it was. I quickly stuck it in my cart, and got the check out lady to take $5 off. Score!
After some research, I decided on a pair of zebra finches. I picked Amelia up from school, and I took her to the local pet shop for a surprise bird purchase. Needless to say, she was over the moon. Finches are nesting birds, so we got them a wicker nest, and some hay they like to nest with. We also bought some natural wood perches, stainless steel food/water bowls, and some fiesta bird seed.
They make the sweetest little noises, and I hope they will be happy in their new home.
I was just flipping through the new Pottery Barn Kids catalog, and they have the sweetest mirrors, that would be perfect for your little girl’s room.
I had to share a photo of this adorable dessert Amelia made today at preschool. The nest is made out of a rice krispie treat, rice paper, chocolate eggs, and the bird is a marshmellow peep.
An early birthday present from my mom, a key per city street bag from Fossil. My bag is a little different from this one, I can wear it across my body, which is perfect for a mom with small children who always needs BOTH hands available!
This is a Magpie. Magpie happens to be a family nickname for our little Maggie. I am considering a tattoo of a Magpie for this reason. Anybody ever seen one of these birds in person?
My Valentine’s Day gift from Beau. A pretty wood bird pendant from That Vintage. I will definitely be wearing this for my upcoming engagement photo shoot.
I love this rattle from blabla kids. I think it’s his little hat that gets me.
