High-res
I am having a love affair with the color yellow lately. I am already thinking about ideas for Maggie’s second birthday in May, and I think I will order these pretty pinwheel cupcake toppers for her party.

Amelia tried on her birthday dress for the first time today. She looked so adorable in it, that I thought I’d give you a little sneak peek. I put a bun on the top of her head with her tiny tiara and presto!, she turned in to a little princess. Her party is next weekend, and I will be sharing more of the details with you then. Amelia’s party dress came from this Etsy shop.
These are the invitations I ordered for Amelia’s fourth birthday party.
They are from Tiny Prints.

This is Ian. He loves robots. Who doesn’t, really. His lovely wife Jenna, who happens to be one of my dearest friends, surprised him with a robot themed birthday party. She made most of the decorations herself, and I had to share them with you.

That’s a pinata!
They cooked out hot dogs and hamburgers, and had fun games to play, like cornhole.

Our curly hair let’s you know how hot and humid it was!
I didn’t get to stay for very long, I had to get home to my sick Maggie, but it is always nice to get out and socialize with people who are older than five.
I’m looking forward to hosting our own BBQ next weekend to celebrate Father’s Day. Thank goodness we have a pool!

Maggie’s little “smash cake”.

A pretty ceramic owl I found at a thrift shop to use for the centerpiece.

Owl pinata!

Big sister in her party dress.

The menu included fresh fruit, quiche, pasta salad, and croissants.
Maggie’s first birthday party was this afternoon, and it was a wonderful event. The weather was fantastic, our friends & family were great company, and best of all, Maggie had a fun day. I have broken the photos into 3 posts; the details, the birthday girl, and the fun!

Today I am thirty-four. This past Saturday, my sister and I headed out for a celebratory night on the town with friends. We had a lovely meal at one of my favorite restaurants, followed by birthday shots, and lots of dancing! It was a very fun evening, a reminder that I am still young & fabulous, and can still hang til 2 a.m. I will say that yesterday was mainly spent on the couch, though:)
Tonight we are headed to my parents for a catered mexican dinner, my favorite, and I’m looking forward to a great day! I will say that the current celebrations happening over the breaking news of Osama’s death has made the day feel more festive. A birthday to remember, for sure.
My shirt is from Target
Jeans? (I’ve had them FOREVER)
Shoes are a birthday gift from mom, as well as the glass earrings.

Amelia’s Paul Frank tee is from Target. Her skirt and leggings are from Old Navy.

They had ice cream sundaes during their party, complete with pink and red heart sprinkles.

All the kids looked so cute in their Valentine’s outfits.

Maggie got to come, too!

Amelia exchanged cards with her classmates. Here is her collection of treats.
Looking forward to a fun filled weekend. I am taking Amelia to see Gnomeo & Juliet in 3D tomorrow night. Sunday, Beau and I will have our Valentine’s Date with lunch at a great restaurant called Columbia, a yummy Spanish restaurant, followed by a visit to the new Salvidor Dali Museum.
