I recently realized that I never shared a photo of Amelia’s bed after I finished painting it! I found TWO 1920’s Jenny Lind beds for a song on Craigslist, and Amelia wanted red, (her favorite color). I will be painting Maggie’s bed soon, and will share a photo with some tips on how I painted the beds, what color paint I used, and what I learned during the process. High-res

Today, I surprised the girls with a special Valentine’s Day themed lunch. I found the cutest heart shaped shortbread cookies with strawberry jam at the store this week, and had the idea to put together a special lunch a little early, since Amelia will have her school party next week.

The girls ate heart shaped peanut butter sandwiches, pretzels (which look like hearts to me), strawberries cut in to hearts, and raspberry lemonade. It made them both happy, and they were excited to drink out of my vintage tea cups, too.

I had purchased them each a book as a Valentine’s Day gift, and decided to let them open up their presents today. I bought Romeo & Juliet: A BabyLit Counting Primer (BabyLit Books) for Maggie, and Everybody Bonjours! for Amelia.

What special plans do you have for your kiddos this Valentine’s Day?

Love is Sweet

one- Amelia this morning before school.

two- Heart-shaped toast with eggs for breakfast.

three- A card for the mister.

four- Pretty red tulips.

five- Heart felt pin I bought on Etsy.

six- Amelia’s Valentine’s Day cards.

seven- A cake Amelia and I just made for dessert tonight.

Love is in the Air

I put up a few decorations for Valentine’s Day. I have always loved this holiday. I think it’s the hearts and all the pink & red color that gets me. Amelia made the door tag, I think it turned out so sweet. Looking forward to Amelia’s school Valentine’s Day party, a wedding that weekend for some of our best friends, and making heart shaped pancakes for the family, with whipped cream and strawberries, obviously.
