Ice Eggs on a Hot Day

Want to make some ice eggs of your own? You’ll need a bag of balloons & some small toys. I bought mine at the Dollar Store. I picked dinosaurs because the frozen “eggs” looked prehistoric to me. You open the balloon and put the small toy inside. Then you fill the bag with water, tie it off, and stick it in the freezer overnight. When you’re ready to give them to your kiddos, just cut them out of the ballon, and the fun begins!

This is the perfect activity on a hot summer day. The dinosaurs inside were a surprise, so as the eggs melted, they were excited to see them. They licked the eggs, tried to crack them open, and finally moved to a sunny spot in our yard to watch them melt.

*I found this idea on Pinterest, which lead me to this blog post.

This is inspiration for my next project. I’d like to make the girls a doorway puppet theater. They already have a nice collection of puppets, so I think they would love something like this.

A Wee Vintage Makeover

I found this vintage wood doll highchair at the flea market a few weeks ago for $10!

It was in good condition, but it needed a little spruce up.

Amelia helped me sand the highchair before I painted it.

I applied two coats of sunny yellow spray paint and….

The result is a pretty highchair that my girls are eager to play with!

On a side note, this is my 3,000th blog post. Wow!
