The girls received so many great gifts this year, my family loves to spoil them, and they have been playing non-stop with their new toys.

What was your little ones favorite gift this year?

Today I had an intervention. A stuffed toy intervention. I’m not sure how a three year old amasses this many stuffed toys. I know I am mainly to blame, but it had reached hoarding levels, and it was time to do something about it! I got rid of HALF of these toys today. For every one I kept, I then had to pick one to get rid of. I pulled two trash bags of plush out of her room today.
I strategically completed this task while Amelia was at preschool, otherwise I could have never done it.
I can’t be the only one with this problem. Maybe I should start a new Tumblr; Stuffed Toys Anonymous. High-res

What’s Under the Christmas Tree for Amelia?

I thought I’d share a few of the things that little Miss Amelia will be opening on Christmas morning. We really kept it simple this year. Our house is already overrun with toys, and I know that the grandparents can’t help themselves when it comes to Christmas shopping for my girls.

This was one of the hot toys for kids this year, but that’s not why we go it. We got Amelia a Sing-A-Ma-Jig because it is awesome! Buy two and they harmonize.

I got Amelia a few new books because she LOVES to be read to. A friend of mine, who is a teacher, recommended this first book. She says her first graders love it.

This book I actually saw someone post here on Tumblr. Amelia loves princesses, and the illustrations in this book are so beautiful. It’s a bit too old for her, but I think she will enjoy it now nonetheless.

She is getting a Little Mermaid costume from Santa, playing dress-up is one of her favorite things, and the jolly old man will also be bringing her some toys from the Tangled movie, which we both loved, btw. There will be a pink dollhouse on Christmas morning that is as tall as she is, so I will be donating the half dozen small dollhouses she already owns to Goodwill. I will be doing a lot of editing next week in the girl’s rooms to make way for all of their new toys.

I am very excited for Christmas this year. Amelia is that perfect age where everything about this holiday is magic.

A Conversation With My 2 Year Old, Amelia

Amelia:
I want to be a princess.

Me:
You ARE a princess.

Amelia:
But I don't have a kingdom.

Me:
Yes, you do. Your home is your kingdom.

Amelia:
Yes, I have a kingdom of toys.
